In 2015, Don Emilio and Doña Rita began their journey as a Costa Rica family coffee farm. From the beginning, they dedicated their lives to coffee production with hard work and sacrifice.
Additionally, Don Emilio used to roast small batches of coffee for personal enjoyment. Over time, tourists visiting the village encouraged the family to continue growing this dream. As a result, Café Don Emilio slowly began to take shape.
Our brand started with a campfire, a pot, and a simple goal: roast coffee every morning. For six years, this tradition continued with passion and consistency.
We remember the first customers who helped us label our products. They supported our early steps as a Costa Rica family coffee farm. Furthermore, we took part in local fairs in Uvita and Bahía, where we introduced our coffee to new visitors.
Later, Deiner, the eldest son, began leading coffee tours. Because of this, the farm experience became more structured and welcoming. Eventually, the family acquired its first handcrafted coffee roaster, built by a local artisan.
However, the journey was not always easy. The 2020 crisis forced us to rethink our plans. Despite the challenges, the family stayed united and continued building the project.
Today, Café Don Emilio remains a strong and united Costa Rica family coffee farm. In addition, we are committed to producing high-quality coffee at every stage of the process.
From planting to harvesting and processing, every step is done with care. You can learn more on our Home page or explore our Coffee Collection.
Finally, we share each cup of coffee as a reflection of our family’s effort and dedication.
